Forsythia for Chinese New Year: Staging Branches for Bloom

Winter–spring

Bright yellow forsythia was a focus of the farm’s Chinese New Year branch program, with wild and tall grades selected for strong visual presence.

Timing is part of the product

The original email explained that the farm staged branches to bloom a few days after arrival under suitable conditions. This is a planning goal, not a fixed guarantee: starting bud stage and receiving conditions affect opening.

Build a mixed branch program

Salmon quince, white quince, double quince, pussy willow and lavender or white tulip magnolia appeared alongside forsythia. Share the size of your display and your color needs when asking about substitutions.

Keep the season in context

This is an archived winter newsletter, including a lighthearted Bigfoot-and-elk feature. Its past stock announcements are preserved as seasonal history; the current fresh list provides today’s selection.
