Oregon-Harvested Pussy Willow and the Winter Branch Season

Winter–spring

Pussy willow is one of the Northwest branch products highlighted in the farm’s archived 2023 spring preview, alongside quince, magnolia and forsythia.

Winter textures and early flowers

The original email featured pussy willow, peach and double quince for Valentine’s Day planning. Its Chinese New Year selection also included salmon and white quince, tulip magnolia and forsythia.

A changing spring sequence

White and pink pieris were listed for mid-February in that season, while white, black and bright-yellow magnolia were introductions in the preview. Historical timing helps with planning but is not a current harvest promise.

The family behind the stems

The newsletter paired its branch preview with a winter photograph of pasture-fed cattle on the farm and thanked customers for supporting a family business. Flowers and forest materials are part of that working landscape.
