An early white-flowering branch

The farm described spirea as one of its winter and spring flowering branches and illustrated both plants and cut stems. Its fine flowers offer a different look from the large blossoms of magnolia or the fuller clusters of double cherry.

What grew alongside it

The newsletter’s seasonal selection included double quince, Pieris japonica, white quince, cherry, and lavender magnolia. These combinations show what the farm was harvesting and photographing during that particular late-February window.
