A Full-Season Flowering Branch Preview for 2022
Newsletter dated December 9, 2021
This December 2021 newsletter looked ahead to the 2022 flowering-branch season, from early winter materials through later spring blossoms.
Starting with winter branches
Forsythia, tulip magnolia, and pussy willow were expected at the start of the program, with quince following. The preview asked buyers to plan Chinese New Year requirements early.
Cherry and Pieris extended the season
White cherry was expected before pink cherry. White and pink Pieris appeared in the next planning window, with pink Pieris noted as limited. Apricot and plum were possibilities only if the farm could secure a source.
New colors and late-season forms
The update pictured white, black, and bright-yellow magnolias, then moved on to flowering dogwood and spirea. These documented the farm’s assortment in that year, not a permanent stock guarantee.
