Color is linked to season

Patrick notes that double quince comes in red, pink and orange, but early forcing can wash out the shades. Salmon quince is also pale early and develops richer color nearer its natural blooming period.

Holiday assortment and stage

White quince was being cut and warmed, while peach and other branch crops supplied the holiday program. Peach was described at thirty to thirty-six inches that year. Confirm color expectations as well as quantity when booking early.

From dairy farming to flowers

The family note recalls Patrick growing up on a dairy farm and being expected to take it over, then choosing flowers instead. A reference to Tillamook’s dairy cooperative places that decision within the local agricultural community.
