Curly Willow, Forest Droppings & Moss for Woodland Floral Designs
Late summer & fall
Explore twisted curly willow, natural forest materials and green moss, with a look back at the late-season hydrangeas and foliage in this farm newsletter.

Three ways to bring the forest into a design
Curly willow supplies branching movement and a sculptural line. Forest droppings combine fallen twigs, branches and other woodland materials for texture. Green moss supplies a soft green surface. The original feature suggested using these materials in wreaths, terrariums and rustic displays.
The archived seasonal palette
The accompanying email featured Limelight hydrangeas with hints of pink, jewel and blue antique hydrangeas, vine maple and tulip magnolia foliage. Corn stalks, hop vines, viburnum berries, hypericum, montbretia pods and ninebark completed a palette of flowers, fruit and foliage. These were that email’s offerings rather than a statement of current stock.
A family wedding memory
The newsletter also shared the story of Nina’s wedding dress, designed with her grandparents in Poland when they could not attend the wedding. The dress brought a personal connection to the day. It is part of the family story woven through these flower updates.
