Newsletter dated September 6, 2022

Pee Gee hydrangeas bring large cone-shaped flowers to the late-season palette. This September update follows their change from cream toward pink and green.

Cone-shaped flowers with changing color

The original update placed the start of the farm’s Pee Gee season in September. It described cream-colored panicles developing pink and green as they matured. The shape is a useful point of comparison with rounded mophead hydrangeas when planning the overall form of an arrangement.

The September flower mix

Antique hydrangeas, Hypericum, ninebark, gloriosa, green oak and white lacecap hydrangeas appeared in the accompanying newsletter. These listings document that season’s broader mix and should not be treated as a current stock list.

Family tradition at hop harvest

The mailing included the farm’s traditional hop photograph with Nina and a hop-harvest video. For a new Pee Gee request, specify the desired stage—cream, mixed pink/green or a more mature tone—and ask the farm which stage is currently being cut.
