Green Limelight Hydrangeas & Their Seasonal Color Stages
Newsletter dated August 14, 2022
Limelight hydrangeas change from green toward creamy white, rosy green and antique tones. This August update follows the crop’s development in the greenhouse.

A changing panicle color
The farm described its greenhouse Limelight blooms beginning in midsummer. The source follows their progression from lime green to a whitish stage, then rosy green and finally an antique appearance. Each stage offers a different palette from the same seasonal crop.
Specify stage as well as variety
When planning an order, say whether you want fresh green, creamier blooms or more mature coloring. The variety name alone does not express that preference. Ask the farm which stage is currently being harvested and how it fits the event date.
Summer on the flower farm
The accompanying 2022 mailing pictured the farm from the track toward the small barn and corn maze. It also listed Hypericum, ninebark, gloriosa and lacecap-white hydrangeas. These are historical companions to the Limelight update; consult current availability before selecting substitutes or quantities.
