A 2022 Specialty Plant Sale: Mature Hydrangeas & Viburnum

March

In February 2022, Oregon Coastal Flowers announced a March plant sale featuring mature bare-root hydrangeas and viburnum. This article preserves the details of that past sale.

Large plants from a working flower farm

The sale featured plants described as ten years old or older. The selection included popcorn viburnum, snowball viburnum, and purple, white, blue, and double-lavender hydrangeas. A bi-color hydrangea grown together with double lacecap white was another offering.

What buyers were told about establishment

The announcement explained that the plants had been pruned heavily for handling, so flowers were not expected that first spring or summer. Buyers were told to plant the bare-root material within one to two weeks; that instruction applied to the sale stock described.

A historical sale rather than current nursery stock

The advertised event was March 12–13, 2022, from noon to 5 p.m. Its old prices and stock list do not represent current availability. Ask the farm directly about any present plant-sale plans.
