Fall Oak Leaves, Antique Lacecaps & Weather-Sensitive Harvests

Newsletter dated October 14, 2021

This October 2021 newsletter brought together fall oak leaves, vivid antique lacecap hydrangeas, viburnum berries, and other seasonal foliage from the farm.

A layered fall palette

The historical list included oak leaves, Brandywine viburnum, red and golden ilex berries, ninebark, and corn stalks. The lacecap hydrangea photograph was presented as a record of its actual bright color rather than a filtered image.

Rain affected what could be picked

The farm explained that some antique hydrangea varieties could not be harvested in the rain. A late-season order therefore needed flexibility so the team could choose the best material available on the picking day.

Flowers and forest products together

Mossy branches, alder poles, birch branches, mood moss, and natural wedding arches appeared in the same email. They extend the archive’s design ideas beyond foliage alone, while current stock should always be checked separately.
