From the Archive: Diversifying During the 2020 Flower Slowdown

Newsletter dated October 12, 2020

A historical October 2020 note records the family's move into decorative concrete when COVID slowed flower sales, alongside memories of the surrounding forest.

A response to a difficult year

The original post said the flower business slowed during COVID and the family obtained a contractor's license to pursue decorative concrete on the Oregon coast. This is a past business chapter, not a current contracting offer.

The flower operation continued

The accompanying list included antique hydrangeas, Brandywine viburnum, snowberries, oak foliage, woodland materials, and wedding structures. It shows how the farm continued adapting during that period.

A sense of place

The email shared a typical view of the Oregon State Forest surrounding the farm. That landscape remains part of the setting behind Oregon Coastal Flowers' flowers and natural materials.
