Limelight Hydrangeas: Fresh Green, Cream and Antique Brown
Newsletter dated August 29, 2019
Limelight hydrangeas change as they mature: the farm’s August 2019 note followed covered-grown heads from fresh green through blush and cream to late-fall brown.

Color is a harvest stage
The grower described Limelight under cover, green early in the season, then blush or cream as heads aged, and an attractive brown when fully antique. For design work, specify a color stage rather than only the variety name.
Other late-summer textures
Pee Gee heads were just starting without a pink cast. The newsletter also featured dried lunaria needing cleaning, burgundy Pistachio, ninebark, Montbretia pods, green oak and long-stemmed gloriosa vines.
A busy farm weekend ahead
The embedded update described preparations for the September 7 Ultimook Race, plus the new timber-frame barn built with family-forest lumber and creek stone. Attendance, prices and transport schedules in the original belong to that season.
