Red Curly Willow and Orange Chinese Lanterns
Historical seasonal newsletter
Explore an archived red-curly-willow page featuring orange Chinese lanterns, their fresh-to-dried use and historical leaf-stripping options.
From the original crop report
Although the title names red curly willow, the main article explains Chinese lanterns: papery orange pods shipped fresh that can also be dried.
Details from the farm
The source offered lanterns with leaves or stripped, describing stripped stems as preferable for appearance. Eighteen- and twenty-four-inch grades could merge into one average size in some harvests.
Seasonal context
Antique hydrangeas, mossy branches, snowberries and forest droppings appeared in the same autumn email. The old extra stripping charge and pack counts do not establish current pricing or preparation.
