Gloriosa Lilies on the Vine: Buds, Stems & Summer Design

Newsletter dated July 8, 2012

A 2012 gloriosa feature records flowering vines with multiple buds, paired with coastal hydrangeas, orange asclepias and other summer specialty stems.

Multiple buds along the vine

The original feature described three gloriosa stems per bunch, each vine carrying three to five buds: nine to fifteen buds per bunch in that historical harvest. This vine presentation offered a different line from a single upright flower stem.

A varied summer palette

Purple hydrangeas accompanied the gloriosa feature. Orange asclepias and Centaurea Marco Polo also appeared in the newsletter, alongside carved cedar pieces. Their colors and forms show how the farm combined specialty flowers with broader natural-material work.

Confirm bud stage and pack today

Ask the farm about vine length, number of buds, expected opening stage, and current pack sizes. The 2012 bunch counts and prices document a past programme; they do not guarantee current specifications.
